Section One: Introduction:
Welcome to the Loofshay experience! This is not just any loofah-it’s a transformative experience! Introducing Loofshay, a loofah sponge that becomes something extraordinary when you combine it with your choice of scents. Choose from the soothing aroma of Rose, the calming essence of Lavender, or the invigorating scent of Rosemary. Mix and match with our aromatic essential oils to create a personalized, fragrant shower experience that not only smells divine but also naturally exfoliates your skin!

(Section Two) Kit Includes:

(Section Three) Safety Precautions:
Please read these safety warnings carefully before using your LoofShay:
⦁ Keep essential oils and dried herbs out of reach of children and pets.
⦁ Do not ingest the contents of the sachets.
⦁ Do not apply essential oils directly to skin.
⦁ Avoid direct contact with the face and eyes.
⦁ Store sachets in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

(Section Four) Step-by-Step Procedures for Use:

  1. First, choose desired essential oil and use eyedropper to add one or two drops to the absorbent ball.
  2. Next, choose desired soap to mix with or match your essential oil.
  3. Then, put the infused cotton ball and soap into the breathable, water-resistant sachet pouch. Secure velcro tightly.
  4. Finally, insert pouch into loofah.

(Section 5) Using the Loofshay in the Shower:
⦁ Wet the loofah sponge, add a gentle cleanser, and lightly scrub skin, starting at feet. The loofah’s natural texture provides gentle exfoliation, helping to remove dead skin cells and leaving your skin feeling smooth and refreshed. The steam and water will help release the aromas from the sachets, creating a spa-like experience!

PART TWO: Instruction-Writing Process

The target audience for Loofshay is young women. The target audience concerning occupation and socioeconomic status is high school and young female college students who shower and desires an aromatic, spa-like experience. The audience lifestyle/interest level are novelty seeking female young adult consumers, who prioritize skin care, aromatherapy, and essential oils.

Primarily, I used a 12-point font for the body text. I maintained a certain uniformity in font type, size, and color (“safety warnings” in red) to aid navigation. The exception was the Q & A section. I chose the “Jumble” font for the title to visually distinguish the end of the document and emphasize the part. I also used bullets and bold text to clearly distinguish contents and safety precautions

The main principle of my page design was that it was consistent and easy to read. I tried to manage white space, visual hierarchy, and the contrast between text and background. Keeping these principles in mind helped me examine the overall document and text in a more comprehensive manner while I was composing the manual.
A significant challenge I faced while writing the instructions was my limited experience with design and image manipulation. As a beginner, I found it difficult to create and adjust the visuals effectively. However, I am overcoming this by seeking out tutorials and resources online, practicing consistently, and considering feedback. This approach aided me with the manual and is helping me improve my skills and complete these kinds of tasks successfully.
In planning, I clarified the assignment instructions. I identified my audience as LoofShay users. I outlined what needed to be done. I researched and made a rough draft of text and visuals. Finally, I fleshed out the manual and organized it.
